Longbow Archer

At a glance

  • Format: Casual / kitchen-table (paper)
  • Colors: Mono-White (W)
  • Cards: 60

Strategy

A classic kitchen-table white weenie deck: drop a cheap two-power body every turn, lean on evasion (Soltari Visionary’s shadow, Kor Scythemaster’s menace, plus Eagle of the Watch and the Griffins in the air) to push damage, and grow threats with renown (Topan Freeblade) and Cartouche of Solidarity. When the board goes wide, Inspired Charge or Glorious Charge ends the game in one alpha strike, with Safe Passage as an aggro-mirror blowout. Stonybrook Schoolmaster and Cartouche widen the board so the pumps always have targets, while Benalish Trapper and Kor Hookmaster tap down blockers to keep the beats coming. Mono-white keeps the manabase perfect so the consistency-hungry curve and team pumps always fire.

How to pilot it

Prioritize curving out over holding interaction — every turn you don’t add a body is a wasted pump later. Tap down the opponent’s best blocker with Benalish Trapper or Kor Hookmaster the turn you intend to alpha strike, then fire Inspired/Glorious Charge after blocks for maximum reach. Hold Safe Passage specifically for a mirror or burn-deck alpha strike rather than spending it early.
