Strategy
Tier-1 mono-U tempo: the lowest, most evasive curve in the format, now with a higher card-advantage ceiling. The 1-drop slot is maxed and meta-correct - Spectral Sailor (flash flier, mana sink draw engine) and Spyglass Siren (flier + Map for selection) are both 4-of, and Stormchaser’s Talent joins as a premium owned rare: a 1/1 prowess Otter on turn 1 that levels into spell recursion and a token engine. Otter-Penguin, Mischievous Mystic, Brineborn Cutthroat and Iguana Parrot turn every cantrip and counter into evasive damage and the draw-your-second-card payoffs. Floodpits Drowner is the best tempo 2-drop available - flash, vigilance, tap+stun on ETB, then a bounce-to-library activated mode that resets the biggest threat. One-mana interaction (Spell Pierce, Unsummon, Into the Flood Maw) plus Essence Scatter and flash Tishana’s Tidebinder double as prowess fuel while protecting the clock. The card-advantage top end is the ceiling raise: Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator (planeswalker that this deck naturally protects, makes your fliers unblockable, filters, and spits out Ninjas) and Overlord of the Floodpits (impendable flier that draws two on enter and on attack), with Quantum Riddler warping in for {1}{U} as flying value. Plan: deploy a flier turn 1-2, ride it behind counters and bounce, and bury them in cards once Kaito/Overlord land - race, don’t stall.
Upgrade path
MYTHIC CRAFTS (2 distinct, 3 copies total): Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator x2 (own0, crafted - top-tier mono-U planeswalker, the single biggest ceiling raise) and Overlord of the Floodpits x1 (own0, crafted - premium card-advantage flier). Running mythic-craft count for this deck: 3 copies / 2 distinct. Owned mythic used for free (NOT crafted): Quantum Riddler x1 (own1). ZERO new rare crafts: the only rares in the deck are OWNED - Stormchaser’s Talent (own4, the new prowess/recursion engine), Tishana’s Tidebinder (own2), and the manabase land Agna Qel’a (own1). NOTE on intel: Aang’s Iceberg and Waterbender Ascension from the build intel are WHITE / off-plan respectively - Aang’s Iceberg is a {2}{W} enchantment (not castable in mono-U) and Waterbender Ascension is an owned rare but a slow combat-quest enchantment that doesn’t beat the new owned/crafted upgrades on tempo, so both are correctly omitted. FUTURE UPGRADES once Mik has more rare wildcards: Three Steps Ahead (own0 rare, flexible Spree counter/copy/draw - elite) and Sleep-Cursed Faerie (own0 rare, undercosted ward flier) would each be straight includes; a second copy of Agna Qel’a or an owned blue man-land would also tighten the manabase. Lands: 21 Island + 1 owned Agna Qel’a = 22, correct for a curve peaking at 5 with Spectral Sailor / Stormchaser’s Talent / Agna Qel’a as mana sinks.
