Strategy
Elenda, Saint of Dusk is the engine: a lifelinking, hexproof-from-instants threat who gains menace and a permanent +1/+1 the moment your life climbs above your starting total — which this deck does relentlessly. Stack incidental-lifegain payoffs (Ajani’s Pridemate, Twinblade Paladin, Aerith Gainsborough, Fiendish Panda, Angel of Vitality) on a deep lifelink/drain base, then convert excess board into value with sacrifice engines like Vampiric Rites, High-Society Hunter, Vampire Gourmand, and Tolls of War (every sac makes an Ally and the ETB Clue refills your hand). Phyrexian Arena is the new grind anchor — a 1-life-per-turn card-advantage faucet you trivially out-gain, so you never run dry in the long game. The removal suite is unusually wide for Brawl — Emeritus of Truce // Swords to Plowshares, Bake into a Pie, Tribute to Hunger, edicts, and -X/-X effects — so you grind opponents out while your life total snowballs and Elenda turns lethal. Classic Orzhov long game: out-value, out-life, and close with an evasive lifelink commander.
Upgrade path
Refinement pass (full-text re-eval of the owned pool): the build was already strong, so changes are surgical. (1) ADDED Phyrexian Arena (OWNED rare, own2) over Wanderbrine Preacher — premier WB card-advantage engine; its 1-life-per-turn cost is a non-issue in a deck that out-gains it every turn, and is well worth raw cards in a grindy singleton format. NOT a craft — already owned. (2) ADDED Tolls of War (owned uncommon, own3) over Scarblade’s Malice (a single-use combat trick) — a sacrifice payoff that draws (ETB Clue) and pumps your board out with Ally tokens whenever you sac, directly feeding Sandbender Scavengers / High-Society Hunter / Vampiric Rites. Curve and manabase untouched. ZERO rare/mythic SPELL crafts: every rare/mythic spell here (Aerith, Lyra, Vein Ripper, Sandbender Scavengers, High-Society Hunter, Emeritus//Swords, and now Phyrexian Arena) is already owned. The only unowned rare remains the approved branch-out shock Godless Shrine (1 copy). Held-back manabase upgrades still require rares: a 2nd/3rd Godless Shrine or a true untapped Orzhov painland/fastland to trim the remaining 4 taplands.
