Strategy

Izzet Treasure-Pirate Spellslinger-Tempo under Breeches, the Blastmaker — an owned-first Standard Brawl deck (1v1, 25 life). Each turn runs a tight loop: (1) deploy a cheap evasive threat, (2) manufacture an artifact (Treasure or Clue), (3) cast a cheap spell then a second spell so a payoff fires — Breeches sacrifices an artifact and flips (heads copies an impactful burn/removal spell with new targets, tails throws its mana value at any target), Kraum draws and grows, or Mica copies an instant/sorcery with no coin flip. The FINALIZER fix that makes this hold together is sustained fodder: The Mechanist, Aerial Artisan mints a Clue on EVERY noncreature spell and Breeches, Eager Pillager mints a Treasure on EVERY Pirate attack, so Breeches and Mica always have an artifact to sacrifice WITHOUT spending your Treasures-as-mana — resolving the earlier “one-shot fodder” hole. Cast-two-a-turn is trivial with 10 one-drops and six cantrips (Opt, Sleight of Hand, Deduce, Chart a Course, Slick Sequence, Into the Flood Maw) plus Stormcatch Mentor’s cost reduction. The payoff stack is redundant: Kraum (second spell = counter-proof card draw + growth), Mica (coin-flip-free copy), Balmor (on-cast team +1/+0 trample anthem), Firebrand Archer (a ping on every noncreature spell). Distinct from artifact-ETB-counting and draw-go control Izzet: this is proactive Treasure-fueled tempo that races on evasive bodies while grinding the copy/burn engine, now backstopped by real interaction — Disdainful Stroke counters the MV4+ bombs burn can’t kill, and Banishing Betrayal bounces any nonland permanent (the enchantment / indestructible-bomb answer the burn-only suite lacked). Manabase is 24 lands, near-even and slightly red (15 R-sources / 13 U-sources), with only 2 true taplands per the aggro/tempo 0-3 band in data/deckbuilding_reference.md; cutting Slagstorm removed the deck’s only double-pip card, so every spell is single-pip and Treasures supply any-color fixing on top of a comfortable Karsten ~14-source 2-color base.
