Strategy
Gameplan
Grixis artifact turbo-combo. Rograkh (free 0-cost body) enables Mox Amber and beats down never; Silas Renn rebuys key artifacts (Isochron Scepter, LED, Aetherflux Reservoir, moxen) from the graveyard on combat damage as a resilience/grind engine. Deploy fast mana turns 1-2 (Sol Ring, Mana Vault, 4 moxen, Lotus Petal, LED, Grim Monolith, signets/talismans, Ancient Tomb, rituals), stick a draw engine (Rhystic Study / Mystic Remora / Necropotence / Ad Nauseam), protect with the free-counter wall, and assemble a compact 2-card win by turns 3-4 while holding up interaction.
Key win lines
- Thassa’s Oracle + Demonic Consultation / Tainted Pact — exile your library, resolve Thoracle, win. Primary line, backed up by Laboratory Maniac so an empty-library state still wins if Thoracle is countered/exiled.
- Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal (imprinted) with ≥3 mana worth of nonland rocks → infinite mana. Outlets: Aetherflux Reservoir (deterministic 50-damage kill with no reliance on Thoracle), Sensei’s Top draw-your-deck into Thoracle, or infinite storm.
- Underworld Breach + Lion’s Eye Diamond → recast cheap spells; Aetherflux Reservoir is the payoff (each spell gains life, then fire 50), not the finite Brain Freeze mill. Brain Freeze remains a real Aetherflux/storm enabler and a spot mill answer, not the “loop.”
Protection & disruption
Full free-counter suite (Force of Will, Force of Negation, Fierce Guardianship, Pact of Negation, Flusterstorm, Mental Misstep, Deflecting Swat) plus Swan Song, An Offer, Delay, Spell Pierce, Dispel and Tishana’s Tidebinder (counters the opposing Thoracle ETB, Dockside, Rhystic/Sentinel triggers, and stax activations while leaving a body). Chain of Vapor + Into the Flood Maw + Cyclonic Rift bounce resolved stax permanents; Toxic Deluge sweeps hatebears; Nihil Spellbomb covers the graveyard-hate hole without hosing your own Breach/Silas plan.
