Strategy
Fynn turns every deathtouch combat hit into two poison counters, so five connections win regardless of the opponent’s 25 life or any lifegain. The build is the Platinum-field shape (57.7% over the field’s Fynn lists): 26 deathtouch bodies at one and two mana so Fynn always has a partner, 16 one-sided BITE spells (never fights — a fight kills the 1-toughness biter; with deathtouch any bite is a kill), and 11 one-mana protection spells, most of which also pump power so a deathtouch attacker tramples over a chump blocker. Kill turn is a median turn 5 goldfish. Triumph of the Hordes is the one-swing finish (infect + trample on the whole team); Rogue’s Passage is the repeatable unblockable outlet for the mana the deck otherwise leaves unspent. Fynn IS the engine — without him the bodies make zero poison — so hold a protection spell for him over an extra attacker. The old ramp / proliferate / toxic packages are gone: the curve tops out at 3 and the deck wants to be casting two spells a turn by turn 3, including on the draw.
Upgrade path
Crafts for this build: 20 common / 12 uncommon (incl. Fynn himself) / 5 rare / 0 mythic. Rares: Venerated Rotpriest, Bloated Contaminator, Axebane Ferox, Heroic Intervention, Arachnogenesis. 2026-10-04 go-wide fix (Mik: Fynn struggles vs go-wide, ~4 lands/game so answers must be ⇐3 mana; mono-G has no creature sweeper on Arena): +Fog of War (owned; prevents combat damage from power⇐3, i.e. their tokens) +Arachnogenesis (rare craft; X 1/2 reach Spiders where X = creatures attacking you, scales off their board) -Pawpatch Formation (Mik: barely used) -Assert Perfection (Mik’s final split: one bite + Pawpatch; Heritage Reclamation kept). Bites 16→15, art/ench hate 8→7, protection unchanged. Throw from the Saddle kept over Assert Perfection: its +1/+1 is the better rider. Printing traps when crafting: Veil of Summer = M20 (uncommon; the SOA printing is RARE), Audacity = PIO (common). Legal in both casual Brawl and ranked Competitive Brawl; no Arena-rebalanced (A-) cards. 34 lands is deliberate: avg mana value 1.72 and the deck functions on two lands; draw_sim’s 17.7% screw figure is curve-blind here (critic re-sim: only 0.6% of games cast ⇐2 spells by turn 4). If it FEELS light, go to 35 by cutting Throw from the Saddle for a Forest. 2026-09-21 changes: (1) Garruk’s Uprising → Evolution Sage — Uprising’s trample does nothing on a 1-power deathtoucher (1 damage is all it has to assign) and only 10 of 30 creatures are power 2+; its draw triggers need power 4+, which 2 creatures have. Sage proliferates on every land drop, turning Fynn’s 2-poison hits into 3. (2) Protection UPGRADE, paid for out of the protection pile so the count stays flat at 11 and the removal suite is untouched: -Biosynthic Burst -Gaea’s Gift (Burst is indestructible-only with no hexproof; Gaea’s Gift is a 2-mana near-duplicate of Saved by the Shell, and Tamiyo’s Safekeeping does hexproof AND indestructible for one. Origin of Metalbending was the first candidate but is KEPT — Mik flagged that it doubles as artifact/enchantment removal, so cutting it would have quietly thinned a second category) +Swiftfoot Boots (recurring hexproof on Fynn that costs no card per removal spell) +Heroic Intervention (the only MASS hexproof+indestructible in the pool — the other 11 pieces are all single-target and do nothing against a wrath or an edict, which is how Fynn actually dies).
