Strategy
This is the field-it-today build of the Parun draw-ping deck: one rare craft (the commander himself) and everything else you already own or can spin up from common/uncommon wildcards. Niv-Mizzet, Parun still turns every instant and sorcery into a card and a ping, so the shell stays a dense pile of cantrips, burn, and counters that all feed him. The marquee combo survives on the cheap: Niv + Curiosity on Niv loops infinitely (each Niv draw pings a player, Curiosity redraws, Niv triggers again), and if you never assemble it the magecraft/prowess board (Young Pyromancer, Storm-Kiln Artist, Guttersnipe, Kessig Flamebreather, Thermo-Alchemist, Archmage of Runes, Saheeli) grinds out value and closes games on its own. Cheap ping engines and token makers replace the unaffordable bombs, so the deck still does its thing without the mythic price tag.
Upgrade path
PLAYABLE-NOW build: the only rare/mythic craft is the commander Niv-Mizzet, Parun (owned_qty=0 → 1 rare craft). Every one of the 62 nonland cards is already owned or is a common/uncommon wildcard craft; no other rare or mythic is included. Where the ideal (competitive) list ran unaffordable rares/mythics, this build substitutes the best owned or common/uncommon in-role card: Ledger Shredder/Snapcaster/Sea Gate Stormcaller → Monastery Swiftspear, Stormchaser Mage, Cruel Witness, Johann; Harmonic Prodigy/Ral/The Locust God/Rielle/Torrential Gearhulk/Goldspan → owned payoffs Archmage of Runes, Soulblade Djinn, Ovika Enigma Goliath, Colorstorm Stallion, Ty Lee Chi Blocker plus Kessig Flamebreather + Thermo-Alchemist ping engines; Galvanic Iteration/Increasing Vengeance/Repeated Reverberation → Izzet Charm; Memory Deluge → Preordain/Ponder/Deliberate; Electrolyze/Prismari Command/Chaos Warp/Cyclonic Rift → Frost Bite, Magma Spray, Galvanic Bombardment, Blink of an Eye, Into the Roil; Swan Song/Mystic Confluence → Spell Pierce, Disdainful Stroke, Essence Scatter. Kept the true combo (Curiosity, owned) and the owned draw engine Enduring Curiosity. This is the ideal upgrade target: as wildcards free up, craft back the engine rares/mythics from the power version (Harmonic Prodigy, The Locust God, Archmage Emeritus, Ral Storm Conduit, Aetherflux Reservoir, Snapcaster, Cyclonic Rift, the copy-spell suite) to reach the full power-ceiling deck at data/decks_json/brawl-niv-mizzet.json.
