Strategy
Genghis Frog turns every Mutant that enters into a Mutagen token, and each Mutagen sacs for a +1/+1 counter, so the plan is unchanged: flood the board with cheap Mutants and counter-makers, then snowball. Owned Mutant bodies (Slithering Cryptid, Crustacean Commando, the Michelangelos, Mona Lisa, Venus, Merfolk Skydiver) feed the engine while Kami of Whispered Hopes and Innkeeper’s Talent add the extra counter, and a proliferate package (Evolution Sage, Flux Channeler, Pollenbright Druid, Cankerbloom, Mowu) multiplies the pile without any mythic doublers. Counters convert to damage through Michelangelo Mutant BFF and Tetsuko evasion plus Overrun / Prismabasher alpha strikes, all backed by a deep cheap card-advantage suite (Colossal Majesty, Garruk’s Uprising, Elemental Bond, Coastal Piracy, Bred for the Hunt). Ramp dorks power it out early and a tight blue-green interaction shell of counters, bounce, and Beast Within protects the plan. It plays grindy and go-wide instead of relying on a single bomb.
Upgrade path
This is the playable-now build: zero rare/mythic crafts needed because commander Genghis Frog is already owned (uncommon), and every other slot is owned or a cheap common/uncommon craft. The ideal power version at brawl-mutant.json is the upgrade path — craft the multipliers (Doubling Season, Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Ozolith), the finisher Herald of Secret Streams, and value bombs The Great Henge / Beast Whisperer / Cyclonic Rift as wildcards free up. Until then the proliferate suite plus Kami and Innkeeper’s Talent keep the counter engine snowballing on commons and uncommons.
