Strategy
NOTE ON COMMANDER: the build intel named ‘Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice,’ but that card is NOT legal in MTGA Standard Brawl (it’s a Commander/eternal-only card and does not exist in the Arena Brawl pool). The only Brawl-legal WUBG Atraxa is ‘Atraxa, Grand Unifier,’ which is what this deck is built around. Grand Unifier is still a perennial tier-1 4-color goodstuff bomb — a 7/7 flyer with vigilance/deathtouch/lifelink whose ETB reveals the top ten and hands you one card of EACH card type (typically 3-5 cards), refueling a grindy control shell completely.
GAME PLAN: pure 4c control/value pile. Survive the early game with a deep removal + counter suite, ramp with dorks and rocks into a wall of card-advantage engines, then drop Atraxa or another bomb to bury the opponent on cards. The owned planeswalker pool is thin, so this is goodstuff-control with a +1/+1-counters / proliferate sub-theme rather than a heavy superfriends shell.
RAMP (9): Llanowar Elves, Druid of the Cowl, Ilysian Caryatid (any-color), Great Forest Druid (any-color), Badgermole Cub (mythic 2-mana ramp engine — earthbend 1 + extra G whenever you tap a creature for mana), Ornithopter of Paradise, plus Arcane Signet / Mind Stone / Bender’s Waterskin rocks. These accelerate to the 5-7 drops and fix all four colors.
INTERACTION: 7 counters (Spell Pierce, Negate, Disdainful Stroke, Essence Scatter, Void Shatter, Spellgyre, An Offer You Can’t Refuse) protect your engines and stop their bombs; 13 spot-removal spells (Bitter Triumph, Hero’s Downfall, Murder, Infernal Grasp, Heartless Act, Mortify, Dismember, Long Goodbye, Epic Downfall, Bake into a Pie, Feed the Swarm, Into the Flood Maw, Emeritus of Truce // Swords to Plowshares) answer everything; 4 board wipes (Deadly Cover-Up, Ultima, Zero Point Ballad, Final Showdown) reset against go-wide.
CARD ADVANTAGE: Phyrexian Arena, Enduring Curiosity, Archmage of Runes, Gix Yawgmoth Praetor, Emet-Selch, Berta, Quick Study / Arcane Epiphany / Cruel Truths, and Atraxa herself out-grind any opponent.
BOMBS / WIN CONS: Atraxa, Grand Unifier (commander); Dragonlord Silumgar (steals a creature/PW); Koma, Cosmos Serpent (uncounterable token engine + lockdown); Junji and Koh for value/removal; Ketramose draws off all the exile-removal; Sothera as an asymmetric board-control enchantment. Counters sub-theme (Adaptive Sporesinger, Venomous Brutalizer, High Perfect Morcant, Aerith, Anafenza, Berta) plays nicely with proliferate and the +1/+1-counter lands (Abandoned Air Temple effects) for incremental advantage and a poison/toxic backup kill.
Upgrade path
MYTHIC CRAFTS THIS DECK: (1) Atraxa, Grand Unifier x1 (the commander — own0, crafted). That is the ONLY new mythic craft in this list. RUNNING MYTHIC-CRAFT COUNT FOR THE PASS: 1 of ~21. Every other mythic in the deck is already OWNED (own>=1) and therefore free: Kaito Bane of Nightmares, Ajani Caller of the Pride, Oko Lorwyn Liege, Invasion of New Phyrexia // Teferi, Dragonlord Silumgar, Koma Cosmos Serpent, Gix Yawgmoth Praetor, Ketramose, Junji, Koh, Emet-Selch, Aurelia’s Vindicator, Sothera, Appa Steadfast Guardian, Badgermole Cub, Final Showdown, Deadly Cover-Up’s slot… (all own>=1).
ZERO NEW RARES: confirmed. Every rare in this deck is OWNED (own>=1) — e.g. Phyrexian Arena (own2), Hero’s Downfall is uncommon, Archmage of Runes (own1), High Perfect Morcant (own1), Berta (own1), Anafenza (own1), Aurelia’s Vindicator, plus all rare lands are owned: Hallowed Fountain (own3), Watery Grave (own4), Undercity Sewers (own3), Dreamroot Cascade (own1), Shattered Sanctum (own1), Bleachbone Verge (own1), Gloomlake Verge (own4), Hushwood Verge (own3), Starting Town (own4), Capital City (own3 unc), and the six Temples (own1-2). No shocklands or other rares were crafted. Commons/uncommons crafted freely as needed.
FUTURE UPGRADES (once Mik has more rare wildcards): add premium dual removal (Anguished Unmaking, Vanishing Verse), efficient interaction (Go for the Throat, Cut Down), top-end planeswalkers (The Wandering Emperor, Teferi Hero of Dominaria, Kaito Cunning Infiltrator), and the best control finisher Sheoldred, the Apocalypse — none owned today, so all are deferred. A few more painless rare duals (e.g. the remaining shock/Verge cycle) would also smooth the four-color mana once wildcards free up.
